Challenge: The Creighton University Heider College of Business is a U.S. News & World Business Report acclaimed business school that nurtures students into ethical and socially responsible business leaders. Its 99 percent employment rate for students after graduation places this Omaha, Nebraska school on the map. With its abundant offerings, Creighton sought a way to communicate its brand messaging and mission to alumni, students and prospective students whenever and wherever they are. After doing research, Creighton believed that an Adobe DPS (now AEM Mobile) mobile app would be the best vehicle to use as a communications and admissions tool for the school to increase visibility, on-site visits, applications and donations.
Solution: To bring these goals to reality, Creighton determined that Bates Creative’s experience working in digital publishing for higher education was the solution it desired to spark engagement among its target markets. The 2015 Year in Review app showcases the University’s and current and alumni students’ accomplishments from the past academic year. While the app is rich with information, photography, videos, sound bytes and infographics, it was intentionally designed to balance content and interactive elements to keep audiences engaged. Creighton’s branded blue and white color profile was leveraged to support the school’s identity while student photos and testimonials bring the culture at Creighton to life for app users. The free app is available to download in the Apple App Store for iPads and was developed in horizontal orientation.
