Challenge – With more than 130,000 global members, ASME needed to tackle the challenge of communicating engineering stories with an audience that spans 150 countries in a more compelling manner.
Solution – After conducing reader research, ASME decided to redesign its magazine, Mechanical Engineering. During the redesign, we focused on developing a visually compelling format that would tell the publication’s stories about technology and innovation through a “mechanical” lens while also maintaining a broad enough appeal to all engineers. The redesign gave ASME an opportunity to launch a new content mix and look for Mechanical Engineering, to better reflect what its members sought to gain from reading the magazine. The new design showcases dynamic layouts, custom illustrations, and compelling imagery that brings stories about engineering to life for its readers.
