Challenge: Turnaround Management Association (TMA), a non-profit organization of professionals seeking to strengthen the global economy, wanted to improve the accessibility and design of its website to better accommodate its 9,000 member-based community. TMA found that its original website proved challenging for members to navigate with information and updates that were either too redundant or lacking in clarity, including the membership renewal process. TMA worked with Bates Creative and our web development partner Unleashed Technologies to redesign its website in an effort to accommodate TMA’s growing global community of professionals.
Solution: Due to the large size of TMA’s global member base, Bates Creative, Unleashed Technologies and TMA agreed that building a responsive website in Drupal would be the best solution for the redesign. The first step for the website redesign was to simplify the navigation and prioritize content for website visitors and members alike. The TMA global website is a catchall for people who do not have TMA chapters in their country, but for those who do, logging into their designated chapters is now easier. TMA’s calendar features more than 400 events each year, so Bates and Unleashed strategically designed the event pages and calendar to be the main touch point for members to access this information. The website redesign focuses on bold elements, immediately featured on the TMA homepage with widescreen scrolling images overlaid with the website’s most visited textual touch points. The new design reflects the prestige of the TMA brand and level of professionalism that the organization upholds its network to, while also attracting the interest of prospective members through the bold design and intuitive entry points.
