Challenge – The United States Marine Corps leadership required a more impactful way to spread their summer safety messages to Marines. After learning that the traditional “Don’t Drink and Drive” initiatives had no discernible effect on Marines, they sought a more significant way of delivering safety messages to their troops. Leaderships’ primary goal focused on ensuring that Marines on summer leave limited risks to those that would be considered “honorable.”
Solution – To effectively drive the summer safety messages, and specifically the “Don’t Drink and Drive” campaign home for the Marines, we designed posters to accompany training materials. These posters used bold slogans and images that would immediately resonate with the Marines audience and promote summer safety. Unit heads used the materials to focus training initiatives just prior to summer leave to encourage smart thinking among the troops.
