Challenge – While Heifer International sends its World Ark print magazine to 1.8 million households, the organization sought to expand its reach to tech-savvy donors around the world who would care about its mission to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the Earth.
Solution – The launch of a tablet magazine app with e-commerce capabilities was the path toward success for Heifer International, making them the first development nonprofit to launch a tablet magazine app. We integrated Heifer’s content strategy, which included features that merged Heifer’s gift catalog and created a digital gift giving experience into the app. We created an extraordinary Experience Under Glass using Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (DPS), giving Heifer an opportunity to share its wealth of beautiful content and imagery through interactive infographics, videos and slideshows. The app was nominated for best tablet app in min’s Best of the Web 2013 and took home a Gold EXCEL award for media innovation in mobile apps in 2013.
