Let’s be honest with each other right off the bat—we are sitting in Ernie’s office interviewing him for his bio as he reviews designer concepts and responds to emails because he’s always so busy balancing day-to-day operations and directing creative efforts. Ernie is a man who literally eats, sleeps and breathes Bates Creative, but does so with a can-do attitude and a megawatt smile (seriously, sir, who is your dentist?).
Ernie’s communication style keeps clients informed of progress and translates their requirements into actionable plans that effortlessly bridge design, strategy and purposeful execution. His signature approach? Analyzing creative challenges objectively. This helps him kick start discussions that explore various perspectives until reaching the AHA! moment best suited for each client.
Leadership is a trait Ernie has always had, from serving as his fraternity’s president at Frostburg State to working his way up to Vice President at our agency. While the environment of a leader is fast paced and hectic, the knowledge acquired from the conception of an idea to the execution of a project makes the responsibility of a leader worth the late nights in the office.
With Ernie, what you see is what you get—a wicked sense of humor that still has our team guessing when he’s being serious, and a compassionate drive to inspire designers to push the boundaries of creativity. After all, the world is a stage, and you may just find Ernie front and center at local nonprofit theater productions. Meet Ernie now before Broadway discovers his visionary spirit.
