Bates Creative is a brand experience agency located in Silver Spring, MD. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Marketing Coordinator to join our team of researchers, strategists, marketers, designers and developers. Candidates will need to understand the importance of integrating timely and smart digital and social content, build marketing strategies that work for our clients and our agency and think uniquely about the how to connect with target audiences. From trends to conversations to analyzing the competitive landscape, your enthusiasm for B2B, B2C, and B2G storytelling keeps you on the cusp of “what’s next” in the digital marketing space.

This position reports to the Marketing Director and will work closely with the marketing and business development teams.


Support agency with marketing and business development initiatives, including:

  • Contributing to and collaborating on managing the agency editorial calendar with compelling content and ideas for blog and social channels
  • Crafting and scheduling brand messaging for the Bates Creative social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube) to fit into the overall brand story
  • Writing, editing and proofing Bates Creative’s content with a solid understanding of agency voice
  • Brainstorming, creating and implementing organic and paid social media campaigns across channels for both Bates Creative and our clients
  • Copywriting and content development for client projects
  • Managing relationships and engagement with the agency’s social media communities
  • Tracking and monitoring social media channels to develop monthly analytics reports
  • Publishing content to website CMS (WordPress)
  • Writing and publishing email campaigns
  • Identifying key social influencers to help drive word-of-mouth promotions
  • Researching and staying informed on social media best practices and industry trends
  • Prioritizing, multitasking and working collaboratively in order to meet deadlines
  • Providing general administration support as needed
  • 1-3 years experience in related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field
  • Strong writer’s voice to create valuable, quality content based on brand strategy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a passion for problem solving
  • Adept at editing and proofing content
  • Efficient time management skills
  • Comfortable working individually as well as part of a larger team
  • Demonstrate knowledge of social media best practices and industry trends
  • Experience in social media reporting using Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, HubSpot, etc.
  • Basic working knowledge of SEO and SEM
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Familiar with WordPress
  • Experience using HubSpot is a plus
  • Flexibility to attend morning and evening events as needed
