As Executive Vice President, Ernie oversees client experiences and the operations of the agency to ensure we’re not only meeting expectations, but exceeding them. He’s tactful in transforming creative goals into actionable plans that effortlessly bridge design, strategy and purposeful execution.

Since joining the agency in 2005, Ernie’s contribution has been multi-fold: he’s a natural-born instructor, creative visionary, and critical thinker. His cross-disciplinary experience as both a creative lead and studio manager leads him to incite conversations that explore various perspectives. This approach has helped to generate results for brands including the American Marketing Association, Atlas Brew Works, Live Happy, and the United States Army.

Ernie’s role within the Bates Creative executive team is to evoke the agency’s core mission of shifting clients’ perspectives through a memorable and fun experience. His close alignment in connecting our clients, account managers, and leadership provides all involved in the experience a voice, seamlessly building professional and creative relationships in a positive environment.

Before joining the agency, Ernie’s experience spanned coasts as an art director in both Rockville, Maryland, and Hollywood, California. Fast forward more than a decade later and Ernie continues to inspire the team to push the boundaries and continue to grow into a respected and trusted agency.
